Gambling is a dangerous game in its true sense. The moment you become addicted to the game, that means not only you will loose your fortunes, but your senses as well!
What exactly is gambling?
According to a definition, “Gambling is referred to as wagering money or something of material value on an event with and uncertain outcome with the primary intention of winning additional money or material goods. Typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period of time.

The table games included in gambling are Blackjack, Poker, 3-card poker, Baccarat, Carribean Stud Poker, Casino war, Pachinko and many more.
The electronic gaming includes slot machine and video poker while other games which come under the category of gambling are Kino, Bingo. Sports betting are also called as Gambling.
There are many psychological ill-effects associated with Gambling. Here are some of them.
Compulsive gambling:
When the gamblers have the tendency of increasing the frequency and the amount of money gambled and those who spend most of their time just thinking about gambling, they are diagnosed as having symptoms of compulsive gambling. The people will never know how much fortune they are wasting and will still enjoy playing the games.
Pathological gamblers:
Pathological gamblers have a sense of denial, superstitions, overconfidence and a sense of power and control when they play the games. They often believe that money is the cause of and the solution to all of their problems. So, they spend their majority of time in the casino. As a result, the person indulges himself into illegal activities such as breaking the law and order to fetch money. The person often gets into illegal activities such as theft, fraud and forgery to obtain the gambling money or recover gambling losses.
It is a bitter truth that many teenagers are becoming pathological gamblers. Also, a teenager that does not receive treatment for pathological gambling when in their desperation phase is likely to contemplate suicide. 20% of teenagers that are pathological gamblers do consider suicide.
A recent study done by a team of German scholars at the University of Bremen discovered that gambling for real money made the gamblers’ heartbeat rate increase significantly. This caused certain hormones to be released which contributed to a state of anxiety from likely addiction. The excitement and elevated mood continues for many hours which may act to lure players back for “…one more try.”
