Comments National Hockey League: Penquins (4)- Capitals (2)
A rookie can be credited with the win for Pittsburg penguins over Washinton Capitals. But the rookie caused a goal but to his own team, Nicklas Backstrom’s thought of clearing the puck went berserk, giving the Penguins the winning goal. Backstrom, who was not available for comment after the game, was hoping either to push the puck gently to Huet or forcefully clear it to the side of the net. He failed miserably as the Penguins won 4-2 over the Washinton Capitals. The goal was credited to Crosby who had taken the original shot. It became Crosby’s second goal of the game and he seems to be back in form after missing 21 games due to a sprained ankle. The win also gave Crosby another notch in a one-sided head-to-head rivalry with Ovechkin. The Penguins are 10-1 against the Capitals when both are playing.
“I’m not where I want to be,” said Crosby, who has 22 goals this season. “But I’m getting a better feel for things. The first couple of games, conditioning-wise, I wasn’t there.” Seems like he just needs a little help getting there.
