Coach Arthur Confident of South African Team

South African cricket coach Mickey Arthur is confident that his team will give a tough time to Australia. He said that his side will put behind their Twenty20 defeats and will make a stunning and elegant come back in the One-day series.
Arthur acknowledged Australia’s wins in the two Twenty20 matches. They had defeated the Proteas, but had earlier lost the Test series 2-1.
The five-match ODI series will begin on Friday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Arthur feels that his players are already prepared for the grand match and will turn the Kangaroos to paper tigers. He said that the gap between the two sides was greater in limited-overs cricket than it was in Tests.
Arthur said that even though they are building for the future, he is expecting the players to come out firing. The Proteas coach quoted in an interview on Wednesday that he is expecting the guys to be hugely competitive through the one-day series.
South Africa is expected to show up the full-strength squad to pick from Friday, as batsman A.B. de Villiers is likely come back on ground after the bruised hip he suffered in the first Twenty20 match Sunday.
At the same time, Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke’s thumb injury will be assessed at training Thursday. Clarke had scans on the ligament damage he suffered in the first Test against South Africa in Perth. The New South Wales player David Warner, who starred in the first Twenty20 match on Sunday, is on standby with the squad if Clarke couldn’t get in to the squad for the first match. Clarke didn’t play both the Twenty20 matches. The series is a do-or-die for Aussies side, as there are a lot of doubts regarding the capacity of Aussies as the strongest team. The recent defeats against India and South Africa has seriously damaged their monopoly in the international cricket.
