Ice climbing- the daring one- man show
![]() |
Ice climbing is more or less similar to rock climbing. The only difference is that unlike rock climbing, you have to climb the iced rocks, glaciers and icebergs. There are many challenges faced by the ice climber when he climbs the hills. The very first challenge faced is the falling of ice blocks. The degree and consistency of the fall of ice depends on the weather conditions and the type of ice rocks you are climbing.
Alpine ice: This type is formed from rain which falls over a mountain.
Water ice: Water ice comes from those water sources that are flowing and which freeze during the winter season.
Accessories required for ice climbing:
Similar to rock climbers, ice climbers also require a system which enables the rope to move in a controlled manner and to keep it from coming off in case of any fall. The system should be connected very firmly to the climbing surface with the aid of a variety of tools.
Â
Ice climbing requires a lot of agility and of course, a daring attitude to climb the high altitudes.
