Rahul Dravid - The Wall

Rahul Sharad Dravid, popularly known as Rahul Dravid or The Wall, is one of the most experienced and stylish batsman in the world of world cricket. The Indian batsman possesses strong batting skills and has been always admired as an agile fielder in the slips.
Born on 11 January 1973 at Indore (M.P.), Rahul Dravid is also known by the name “Jammy” as his father used to work in Kissan (a company known for producing jams) and has also kept wickets for India. In 142 test matches and 339 one-day internationals, Dravid has scored 11,490 and 10,765 runs, respectively. Dravid holds the unique record of scoring a century against all ten Test playing nations, while being away from home, presently holds the world record for the most number of catches by a non-wicketkeeper (188) in the world of test cricket. Rahul Dravid also holds the distinction of being involved in 80 century partnerships with 18 different partners.
Rahul Dravid made his test debut on 20 June 1996 v England and ODI debut on 3 April 1996 v Sri Lanka. Dravid’s solid defense was appreciated by one and all when he joined hands with VVS Laxman to share a fifth wicket partnership of 376 runs in the second innings of the second test of a three match test series against Australia at Kolkata in 2001. In the 1999 World Cup, Dravid became the only Indian to score back-to-back centuries in the World Cup (110 vs. Kenya and 145 vs. Sri Lanka).
Rahul Dravid is still not short of the hunger to score runs, almost at will, much to the delight of cricket lovers across the world.
