![]() |
Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo’s unbeaten form in the sports has paid him yet another award. This time, it is the English Football Writer’s Association voting him the footballer of the year. It is the second season in succession that the great soccer star has received both of the most prestigious individual awards in English football.
His career record this season is literally sky rocketing! Ronaldo scored 38 goals for Manchester United this season and beat off competition from Liverpool stiker Fernando Torres and Portsmouth goalie David James.
According to the chairman of the FWA Paul Hetherington, “Ronaldo’s award is no surprise given his brilliant form this season and incredible goal-scoring record.” He added, “Cristiano was an overwhelming winner and, given his age, he has the potential and ability to dominate this award for years in an unprecedented way.”
Previously, Cristiano Ronaldo was voted as England’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year.
