If you have taken tennis as a way to keep yourself fit or as a weekend sport to spend your leisure hour productively or for whatever reason, you need to follow some fundamental tips that should be followed to achieve success at your chosen sport.
Buy quality tennis gear: Choose tennis gear that suits your playing style. Before shopping for tennis gear, consult a professional trainer or a tennis club pro about what type of tennis racquet is best suited for you, the weight of the racquet, balance and the grip size. Buy good quality tennis balls. Don’t go by the price, as cheap and low quality tennis balls are often expensive as they are useless and do not have bounce in them. Buy regular balls which are good for practicing your service.
Study the game play: Carefully observe and study various styles of the game play. Watch tennis matches of the famous tennis players and see how they play their strokes. If possible, try to imitate their strokes. You may consult tennis instruction books to know more about the rules and mistakes and the ways to rectify them. All these will help you know the nuances of tennis.
Execute the moves: After watching and reading enough about the game play, it is the time to execute those moves. While playing tennis, try to execute all the moves that you have seen and read about. This will help you determine what really suits your playing style.
Physical practice along with mental preparation makes a complete tennis player. The devastating speed of your serves and mind blowing ground strokes are just not enough to win a match. Practice along with mental preparation makes a complete tennis player. Combine both the aspects and be the winner of the game!

It is very important to tell your players to detect if the ball is in dirt during the base-running session. Here is a tutorial for you, the coach, to train your players how to read the trajectory of a pitched ball that will bounce in the dirt. Here’s how.
Players’ positioning is very important. Set up the players at all the three bases. Remember, different bases have different rules for a ball in the dirt so; different rules apply for the players at each base.
Now mix in strikes and balls in the dirt to the catcher. If the ball is about to bounce, ask all your players to uniformly say “DIRT” in a high pitch. This ensures that all the players of your team are paying attention to the session. Guide the base-runners as to instantly go when they get to know that the ball is about to bounce.
Tell the runners on the second base to react to the ball in the dirt and then decide whether they would be safe or not. Ideally, if the ball kicks away from the catcher, they should have gone and tell the base runners to stay if the catcher blocks the ball in front of him. Meanwhile, the runners on the third base should follow the same procedure as done by the second base runners.
Always highlight the point to your players each base is independent of each other, so that the players don’t get confused.

The catcher is probably one of the important players in Baseball because, catching is an analytical position in the game. And thus, the position is a responsible one to be handled. These aspects make the catcher the team leader. Catching position is very crucial- the whole game can be turned the other way if the catcher is intellectual to analyze the situations taking shape on field. In this article, we discuss about different catching tricks.
How to block the ball?
Blocking the ball needs nothing but skill. Blocking a ball in the dirt is not the only requirement of a catcher. You need to block the pitch, repossess the baseball and position yourself as to throw out a runner if he is trying to move ahead. In order to do it, quickly get both your knees on the ground. Use your footwork and observe the direction of the ball as to whether you need to push off in any direction.
To grab the ball, put your glove back against your cup, keep the fingers down. Make sure that the back of your hand is against your cup. Then, set up a barrier for the ball to bounce off.
Secondly, you should block all balls in the dirt when there are runners on base or when there are two strikes on the hitter.
How to block the pitch?
Different pitches demand different ways to block them. Your duty is to block all balls so that they will hit you in the center of your chest and thus drop harmlessly in front of you. Trying to catch a ball in the dirt is not recommended, especially when there are runners on base or when there are two strikes on the hitter. The worst thing to do is trying to catch a bouncing ball and ultimately missing it. This results in a ball back to the screen and the movement of runners on base.
How to catch a fastball?
Whenever a fastball is thrown in the dirt, make sure that you move your body in front of the baseball and block it back to the middle of the field. Your body should be perpendicular to the ball.
Always make sure that you pick the baseball with hands inside your gloves.

Putting in the game of Golf highly influences your scores. So, in order to do it in the best way, you need to combine the fundamentals of putting and your own style of executing the task. Here are a few tips to best accomplish the task and thus score high.
How to hold the putter?
Hold your hands closely while handling your putter. If your hands are at distance, this may lead to inconsistency. Try the reverse overlap grip technique followed by tour players- keep the forefinger of your left hand off the putter and rest it on the little finger of your right hand.
Grip pressure is as important as your grip. Apply the pressure lightly, rather than tightly.
How to look at the position of the ball?
Keep your left eye stared over the ball. This gives you a better idea of your putt’s intended line of travel.
How to move the putter?
If you are undergoing practice session, place another ball behind the ball that you intend to hit on the green. Then, hit the second ball and stop. This helps you to roll the first ball into the hole.
What should be the distance?
Don’t stand too far from the ball. This will lead to an improper stroke. Standing too close is also not recommended because this will force the backstroke outside of the target line. So, maintain a moderate distance from the ball which is neither too far nor too close.
What should be the position of your hands?
Keep your hands up front. To ensure a better roll, keep the hands slightly ahead of the ball.
What should be your body posture?
The body movement should be minimal while putting. Your head and shoulders should stay in place and not swaying.
Follow the fundamentals, practice well and see the results- the ball will actually start to fall frequently!
