The Champions League is just around the corner, the most elite football championship in Europe. With an array of teams one is left wondering whom to root for. The current holders AC Milan are out courtesy Arsenal and the quarterfinals are filled with English sides. After the Gunners superb performance it is only natural that many have joined their legion of fans. Arsenal are to play against Liverpool, a battle that will leave both sides battered and bruised for sure inconsequential of the out come.
The other contenders for the cup are Manchester United, Barcelona, Schalke, AS Roma, Fenerbahce and Chelsea. With such teams excitement will be at an all time high and fans of football will be able to get a snatch of the excitement as the team’s battle it out for the ultimate title in European football.
After the shameful performance of the top English clubs in the FA cup revenge will be had on the Champions league fields, quality football and heady excitement are here to stay.

Chelsea fans were over the moon, when their side got the better of Olyampiacos. Chelsea stomped into the next round of the Champions league following a 3-0 win over Olyampiacos at their home ground at Stamford Bridge. If Chelsea gas won, it is generally with the help of Michel Ballack and this was true even at this game. Ballack shot a header past the keeper, Antonios Nikopolidis. Chelsea seemed on the go playing fast football and in the 25th minute Ballack provided Lampard with a cross and he did not disappoint. Chelsea did not stop there and the third came through a corner from Frank Lampard, which Kalou put into the back of the net.
The San Siro stadium saw one of the finest football matches where the world witnessed the exit of AC Milan from the Champions League. AC Milan is the current holder of the cup, and with their exit, we will see anew champion. Milan were held to a 0-2 score by Arsene Wenger’s young guns. Cesc Fabregas gave a magnificent performance by clinching the first goal for Arsenal in the last minutes of the game The Spain midfielder picked up the ball, dodged Gennaro Gattuso and hammered a 25-yard strike into the bottom right corner. Adebayor scored the second goal in added time, following a fine run and low cross from Walcott along the goal line, to write a glorious night for the Gunners. Arsenal is the first English club to beat Milan at home. This result is a good boost for the flagging morale of the Gunners who are down to only one point difference between them at the top of the English Premier League and Manchester United.
